About
The SET Social Enterprise was founded by Colin Kelly specifically to be part of the Social Enterprise movement.
The Manhasset Social Enterprise is a non-profit organization that exists based on the concept of social entrepreneurship. Through it’s fund raising efforts it will work to make a positive impact on society in our local community as well as helping micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations.
*The Manhasset Social Enterprise is a New York based non-profit 402 charitable organization.

What We Do
Our current business model is to create shoe drive fundraisers that support over 4,000 families of micro-enterprise partners, with the majority of them being women-owned. The micro-enterprise industry represents one of the most effective ways to lift many families out of poverty in devastated economies. Most people do not know that 70% of the global population uses repurposed shoes and clothing; that’s over 5 billion people! The shoes you collect serve as a philanthropic bridge to give people a hand-up, rather than just a hand-out.

Shoe Drives
We develop shoe drives in our local community. We set up our collection bins in local retailers and other community partners to collect gently worn, used or new shoes and sneakers. We spread the word throughout the community using social media, flyers, and word-of-mouth. We collect the shoes, group them into pairs, and send them off to our fundraising partner, Funds2orgs. The funds we receive from the shoes are donated locally.
Who We Help
Using the funds that we raise from the shoe drives, we choose local and international children's organizations to donate to. We select organizations that provide help and support to children in need. Our first shoe drive donation went to North Brooklyn Angels, a local non-profit engaging hundreds of volunteers and partner organizations annually to support neighbors facing food and economic insecurity.
North Brooklyn Angels, a volunteer-powered non-profit in Brooklyn that has been feeding meals to the community since 2017. The Angels bring food to where the need is, through our mobile soup kitchen (the Angelmobile), which now regularly serves up to 2,000 hot, healthy meals a week at nine locations in North Brooklyn.
North Brooklyn Angels (legal name: North Brooklyn Coalition of Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Inc.) is a 501(c)(3)
